GML - Insights Pump

A deliberately silly, presentation tool combining physical interaction and a 3D animated outcome.

After the pandemic as in-person events became a reality again, Google came to us looking for ways to make an upcoming APAC Leadership event entertaining and engaging. The ‘Insights Pump’ is a digitally-connected bicycle pump. By actively pumping its handle up and down, users are able to inflate objects on screen and blow them away to reveal insights.

Originally conceived for a business-to-business presentation in India, the blatantly wacky PHQ invention has proved so popular that it got a striking reissue for APAC Leadership. New renders of different 3D objects were an opportunity to push the format in new ways, with complex multi-item compositions and subtly-staggered inflation.

Delightfully, the executional polish we were able to add to this new iteration seems only to have enhanced the innate silliness of the experience.
